"I donate to the CEI Foundation using a donor advised fund because it helps me find the best place for it in my total program of giving, simplifies donating "administration" and gives me some 'extras' I couldn't get easily on my own. I'm able to set up a series of future donations, if that's my choice, and the CEI Foundation will get the funds at the times I have set. I also get summary reporting as to allocation of donations across charity types, which helps me think about the overall effects of my giving. Finally, the DAF does all the paperwork: they cut and mail checks, whether one or many, they report back to me on charity receipt of the funds, and they make sure the charities are all current on their required credentials."
